I think my Gigabyte 6600GT passive got too hot and is fried....How can i determine if its fried??

So..i have the passivly cooled gigabyte 6600GT w/ the silent pipes....and recently it seems like my graphics on my puter are ******.....

whenever i watch any divx/ mpegs dl'ed online, even thou Gspot telle me i have hte proper codecs, the video display is slightly choppy (not really choppy, but its still NOTICABLE).... and i have been noticing some weirdness when i play games...

SO, in summary, i was wondering if anyone knows of any dignostic tests to see if my card has gotten fried or is damaged??? any ideas anyone

6600GT? Isn't that kind of asinine though? The 6600GT runs extremely hot... or are you talking about the 6600?

EDIT..... Well, i have been messing around playing all different types of video files, and im noticing somin a weird... I have an old divx of "seven" and that doesn't run choppy, but its seemingly the new tv episodes that i have dl'ed that are running choppy...maybe i need to experiment around w/ different codec pacs (i recently formatted my system, so that may be the thing, codecs...although Gspot says i have whats needed for the files)

use VideoLan..goto google.com search VideoLan and download and run ur movies in there.

Its a codec problem. Probably you have a similar codec to the one required so it can play, but it isn't the one needed so it plays choppy. Or also, it might be that you installed too many conflicting codecs.

nah......i only put a few on there...i will try to do a clean sweep and see if that helps.
