Our two. The one on the left is deaf and bad while the one on the right is fat and lazy.

You ever see if he could be ok with those freaky hairless cats?

I've heard those are worse for allergies. It isn't the fur, but the skin goo, and fur-less cats either have more of that, or it spreads easier.

Aren't all cats essentially deaf and bad?

True, but that one is factually deaf. She is a rescue off the street that had head problems. She may be deaf (verified by blowing a whistle behind her while she was asleep - didn't budge) but it doesn't slow her down at all. It makes it hard for us to yell at her to get off the table when she can't hear a damn thing.

The true test is shaking a treat bag.

When our old cat was alive it seemed like she was going deaf yet every time the treat bag was shaken she could hear it. :p

Good point. We have done that and the fat one will come out from wherever she was sleeping. The deaf one is nowhere to be found.

Both my parents had cats, among other things I was allergic while I was growing up.
(Read just about anything living I am allergic to that is not food within the US)
That was for the most part without allergy medication.

Of course with allergy medication the difference is minimal when at either of there houses.
