I think my cable provider's name server is down... What do you think?

Only sites that ive recently been to seem to be working... (i.e. Anandtech, Altavista)
But any new site, just sits there and eventually times out.
Ive eliminated my computer being the culprit, my dads computer does the same thing, only for sites hes recently been to.
Think its my router, or the cable companies name server?

BTW: If anyone could do me a favor (since i cant get to the site). Could you find me Radisson's Reservation Line? I need to cancel a reservation asap

I hate comcast's DNS servers... they take FOREVER to update, new domains I add to my hosting don't show up for me for 36 hours sometimes, but others see them within 12 ... I hate these DNS servers!

ssp, you can use mIRC to /DNS the websites, but i forget it that'll work, since you can't see the domains at all..

The only way I can imagine a program like that working would be if you could enter a specific DNS server for it to use.

Well it looks like that wasnt the only thing they were havin problems with. Everything was just down for the last 50 mins....

mIRC actually did show me the IP. But I wonder, does it contact your DNS server or does it contact the DNS server of the IRC server, cause it'd be useless if it tries to use your DNS server when its down.

Just to update .. according to my brother GTE took down 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 today for maintanance or something like that.

My brother was using that his machine wasnt going anywhere.. mine had no probs cause i am using charter's dns.

that's happened to me more than once, you need to manualy set up a DNS server that isn't run by your ISP

Right. That's my point. It would have to use a server OTHER than the one your ISP assigns to you.
