I think it's funny that College Basketball is bigger than NBA

I think it's funny that College Basketball is bigger than NBA. Look at all the media coverage NCAA Basketball gets compared to NBA. Even comparing NBA Playoffs is not even the same. I love all sports and watch everything and it seems that NBA is the only Pro sports that gets overshadowed by it's College brethren.

Hmm, NBA games get higher Nielson ratings. The only time NCAA beats NBA is during the tournament.

I think it's funny that college players get nothing, while NBA players make a bazillion dollars.

NCAA players get a free edumacation, and other "perks" 😉

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the NBA sucks?

It does? While not as good as it was in the 80's, NBA play is definitely better than it was 10 years ago.

As fun as NCAA is to watch, the skill level of the vast majority of those players is nowhere near NBA-level.

uh, no. college bball players get free tuition and board, which can cost up to $200K during their four years. They also get world-class coaching, in most cases, and extensive media coverage to bolster their bball resume.

As far as I can tell, NBA is "bigger" here than NCAA. Most of the people I know who follow NBA follow NCAA, too, though.
I follow neither. I followed NBA when I was in high school, but now only sport I follow is NFL football.

How about MLB? No one cares about MLB.

Somebody must... MLB revenue is 5x what is was 15 years ago..

15 years ago was around the strike, so wasn't there next to no revenue at that time?

unless you live in Kentucky or Kansas, or N.Carolina, your statement is bogus.

Completely agree.

Not that Portland has awesome D1 programs (UofP, PSU), they are still decent basketball teams. I live down the road from University of Portland and nobody goes to or talks about their games. March Madness propels college basketball ratings. During the season the games are quite uninteresting.

The NBA, on the other hand, is huge. You should have seen everyone here in PDX a few weeks ago. The Blazers were the cities conversation topic. Nobody gave a damn when PSU made it into the tournament.

Even in Kansas, many fans continue to watch players after they graduate so the NBA following is larger than you'd think. This is actually how I became interested initially.
