A small red mark is nothing, that is why they are read in 48 to 72 hours. Even if positive it doesn't mean you have TB, just that you have been exposed at one time to TB and your body knows what it is and has a reaction.


Anaphylaxis generally doesn't happen several hours later.

this man is 100% correct. if you've ever had BCG vaccine, or have been exposed to TB bacteria, you'll test positive for the skin test. all it means is that your immune system had a workout for TB. your chest x-ray will show scarring if you've had TB for some time, and you can also have a lab collect your phlegm, which will be grown on a petri dish. don't touch the area on your skin until you have the results verified in 48-72 hours. it will begin to itch, but leave it alone. and no bandaids either.
