I think I'm going to slap a room A/C unit on my pop-up camper...

I'm going to mod. my pop-up to accept a room a/c unit for < $100. The RV units that sit on top are rediculously expensive!

Shouldn't be too hard, would just have to remove it when the pop-up goes down.

Good question, it will be only used when 120VAC power is available at camp sites.

Makes sense. A pop-up camper will only be used while parked; i.e. at a campsite. Unlike an RV, which needs to have AC "all the time."

I know that some camper/RV AC units run on propane...that rooftop unit you were looking at probably does.

I think you're making the smart choice. 🙂

what's the point of "camping" in an air conditioned camper?

Ummm..by your logic, whats the point of camping in any camper over a tent. Or for that matter, sleep on the ground you pvssy.

Hey, great idea... I just spent a little over a week in our pop-up. It would have made 2 or 3 of the really muggy nights a lot better for sleeping.

I'll just wait til an end of season discount, and grab one for next year.

Why didn't I think of that before?! Now my wife will be happy that I drove 300 miles, came into the house, and logged onto ATOT before I even unloaded a single thing.
