no joke... im starting to feel like... man.. i've worked hard to have the (few) things i do... maybe people are just pussies... i've always liked the democrats because, the democratic way is to help others... help people who maybe weren't born as smart as i am.. who didnt have the things i did to get where i have.. but maybe.. just maybe.. i did that. maybe others who haven't gotten here dont deserve to live nicely, and to have cars, and money, and, even though i dont have alot of things i would like to.. i will. one day.. maybe i shouldn't want to give to welfare..

So bottom line is you are having hate for other Americans other than what you feel is your kind.

Yep you are a Republican.

Reminds me of the old joke...

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself a very liberal Democrat and was very much in favor of redistribution of wealth. She was ashamed that her father was a staunch Republican.

Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes and the addition of more government welfare programs. He responded by asking her how she was doing in school. She answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, with no time to go out and party like other students. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend. Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"

She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA She is so popular on campus, college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over.

"Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your 4.0 GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree! She played while I worked my tail off!"

The father slowly smiled and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican Party"

Cute story, but lousy comparison. I have always considered myself a conservative democrat. I would be a full blown republican if not for all the racists. But the truth is whether democrat or republican there is very little balance. We shouldn't support greed, but on the other hand we shouldn't reward laziness. We shouldn't have the guy making $50K a year pay 15-20% tax and allow someone making millions a year to pay the same and many times less.

From a social standpoint I am very mixed on many issues, mostly case by case.

Greed is not in and of itself the problem. If you use greed to build a company it is a good thing. If instead you use greed to underwrite shoddy mortgages then it is a bad thing. But in that case it is really stupidity not greed that is the problem. It is the same with most liberal social programs. They dont reward laziness so much as stupidity... such as supporting single women who choose to have a child out of wedlock.

Perhaps the largest problem with the Democratic Party is their worship of Women's Reproductive Rights and the belief that men should be forced to support women choices.

being a republican when you are young means you don't have a heart, but being a democrat as you age, means you don't have a brain.

I wouldn't say lousy comparison but slightly flawed...should have been shaving off 1.5 of her GPA and giving .5 to her friend and the other 1.0 to someone not even enrolled in school.

“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

Listen to Fox news for 5 minutes, the propaganda machine of the power elite, if you can't see thru the cloud of misinformation then congrats...your a repub..

It is just as much a fallacy to conclude all Democrats are patsies as all Republicans are heartless misers. The vast majority of us want what will be the best path towards growth and prosperity and happiness for the country as a whole, we differ as how to get there. We differ on the methods to achieve that goal.

Why am I basically a Democrat after having grown up a Republican and being part of the social and economic class (and well as being a small businessman) supposedly part of the GOP corral? Two main reasons: (1) Financially I feel the whole trickle down economics (now rebadged, but still the same) is a cruel hoax that mostly has the effect of turning the USA into a South American oligopoly, (2) I'm absolutely fed up and disgusted with the so-called party of freedom's predisposition to social engineer-the so-called social conservatives whole feel it is a proper role of government to legislate social mores. Those, coupled with the national GOP functioning essentially as a gang (heaven help any "RINO" who ever strays from the party line vote) will keep me in the Democratic Party for a long time.

And don't even mention the Clinton repeated inquisitions and impeachment, where Gingrich and his cronies placed party above country and deceny.

I have no problem voting for good GOP candidates for local and state offices, but until the national party drops its party line vote mandate/bitter partisanship I could never see myself voting for any national GOP candidate.

I would disagree. It seems that the Democrats primary mission is to force men to support "independent" women in whatever choices they want to make.

And so why would you vote Democrat, when one of their primary missions is to socially engineer men and women into being the "same"*?

*excluding Reproductive Rights, we certainly couldnt let men have any of those 🙄

I recently asked my friends’ little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President of the United States. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there. So I asked her, “If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?” She replied, “I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.” Her parents proudly beamed. “Wow…what a worthy goal,” I told her. “But you don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that. Tell you what – you can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my driveway, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house. How about doing something wonderful like that?” She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, “Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?” I said, “Welcome to the Republican Party.” Her parents still aren’t speaking to me.

Boomerang, you are defeated.

Nice story, but liberals will never agree that story applies to their party. It sounds mean when you spell it out that way, and they are the party of love.

Actually a more accurate representation would be that you tell her parents they need to pay you $50 because you're the "job creator", then you give her $25.

I think these jokes are interesting because they really tell you what a fantasy world Republicans actually live in. They really think that they are busting their asses day in and day out in order to support lazy shiftless people who sit there and do nothing.

But hey, it plays into the standard narcissistic fantasy that so many people want to believe. Everything they have they have due to their own hard work. Every duty they owe to other people is to prop up someone who wants to be lazy. It's childish.

As for the mention of Ayn Rand, that did bring to mind a favorite joke of mine:
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

The government is already freaking huge and spending a ton of money.

So why does it not simply employ and make the most use out of the beneficiaries? Don't wait for them to find a private job, give them a public job.

thanks for cleaning it up... it was early when I posted and I am running on little sleep. I am trying to make a living, and being it is thursday, the government feels I can take todays and tomorrows wages for myself and my family so I am trying to make the most of it- sunday through weds gets redistributed

After all, none of us are greedy. It's only the other fella who's greedy.

Not every duty, but some of them.. I also have issue with the government pissing my tax dollars away on numerous things. government just makes it harder and harder for actual working people to make it. Just get out of my way
