I think I set the record for slowest broadband in history...

The thread title is a lie since you aren't using sprint. Whenever you try to download an email they send you a letter in the mail with the contents of the email since it will get there faster than actually trying to download it off sprint's network.

True story.

I think a better question is...are you paying for said shitty service?

you might as well get dialup @ $10/month

OP, I take it you just live somewhere really remote and not just next to someone who is stealing your interwebz and torrenting with it 24/7

Hmm, OP, are you running a wireless router and is it locked down?..

Yikes.

I'm on a 75 Up/Down Unlimited Bell Fibre Op connection. Usually get around 9500 kb/sec download speeds. Its actually not bad, pay $105/mth tax included with my home phone and all calling features and unlimited long distance. I don't have Cable/Satellite TV to justify the cost.

that sucks ass, but, .1mbit is still double the speed of dial up, and 261 ms latency is really trashy, but not as bad as dialup.

Me: ping = 54, down = 5.24, up = 0.44

$25 DSL naked ( no phone line service).

OP needs to do a test with a stand alone computer connects via cat5 cable directly to the modem and nothing else is attached to or running.

I'm very close to the CO... actually, I'm *inside* it.

The DSLAM racks are literally like 20 feet from me.

And it's still a C lol

Gawd I miss Comcast internet...

That's considerably better than the OP's results...but still not quite 1/3 of what I got with Comcast.

set the record again...seriously, fuck my ISP:

Have you called them? Something's broken. They'll fix it!

Try connecting to your cable modem and see if it gives you any clues to the issue. Try http://192.168.100.1/ -- that'll get you to the admin screen of a number of cable modems. There should be a link for Signal, and you'll see the Signal-to-Noise ratio. Mine's about 37dB, for example.
