I think I need to change my number!

How does a google # help his current problem? It'd help his problem of having to give people a new number in the future, but he still has to give people the new #, and the collection agencies still have his real non-google number so he'll still be bothered.

While I agree he should use a google # for his home phone from now on, it doesn't help his current issue.

yeah sorry I wasn't very clear. I meant he would have to get rid of his current number.

he could also talk to each of those collections agencies but usually they won't believe you over the phone so you have to fax in something or mail them a letter first.
 
That sounds like a good plan until you get 5+ calls a day that are not for you.

Then it quickly becomes irritating.
Believe me, I do understand. My oldest stepson was giving out our address and phone number for a long time even though he's never lived under our roof. He owes everyone money and will never, ever be able to pay it back. Two calls so far today.
