So I signed up for a life insurance policy through State Farm since with renters insurance, car and life it ends up being only like $15 more than if I did just car insurance.

They had to do a physical on me though before approving me for my life insurance policy, took blood, urine sample, weight and height.

Got the results back and was told that they can't cover me at the agreed upon rate because my liver function is reduced! I thought WTF?!?!? (I'm 26 btw)

Seems that the medications I've been on since December from an auto accident have done a number on my liver!

All I could think was WTF would have happened if I didn't sign up for this life insurance plan and inadvertently find out about this?

Of course now I've stopped taking everything unless I absolutely can't handle the pain but damn this sucks.

I'm a sad Panda :(

Cliffs:

-Found out I've been killing my liver since last December by chance.
-Taking steps to hopefully reverse damage thats been done.

Sorry to hear that. Time to call your doctor and talk about different meds?

Well that's what made me decide to post this, just got back from the doctors.

Got a different script and am going to another doctor soon about my liver.

Livers usually regenerate fairly quickly after the offending agent is removed. Your liver should function normally soon enough.

Your liver funtion can be impaired after a weekend of hard partying too, but will usually spring right back, once you lay off the booze. An enzyme anomally does not mean a bad liver, although it could head that way, if the conditions continue. (not that I'm a liver, gizzard, or any other kind of expert.) ;)

Lucky for you, the liver is the only internal organ that regenerates.

Best of luck, OP. :)

:(

I have life insurance from State Farm also but they didn't do any tests on me. I did sign up when I was 24 though.

Workers comp case, which means workers comp selected doctors, I actually moved from FL to GA a few months ago and the new assigned doctor is MUCH better, took me off the meds that caused the issue and is sending me to another doc to get my liver in check.

Plus I'm already suing my old company's workers comp for screwing me out of thousands of dollars over the period of time I was being paid through them, long story though. And no I'm not a sue happy person or anything of that nature but in this case it's either lose thousands of dollars or do something about it.
