Couple years ago went on a date with an OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGSOHOT redhead Irish lass named Rhianna. She was quite a few years older than me and I made a complete fool out of myself on the date, but hey, I had a good time.

I always thought you were half Irish and half Scottish. You know the type that likes to drink but hates paying for it!
 
~1/8 Irish, can't say I much care for the beer or food... but F redheads certainly get my attention.
 
My last name is Irish and I am part Irish. My last name is harris. Im an uber mut tho. Chinese, seminal indian, black, norwegien(sp?), scotish, yugoslovian. And some other crap. But I look like a black guy. Go figure.

I wouldn't say 'widely' but i have seen it at a few stores in Arizona and back when i lived in Minnesota.

You're a long way from Tipparary . . .

I lived in Dublin, Ireland at age 18-21, and it is not "all that" - alcoholism is so severe it is considered "normal". The social life is built around the pub; food is basic meat and potatoes. If you like that it is awesome; if not, not so ideal.

I did love Ireland since I was a drinker then . . . and it is a beautiful - if cold and rainy - country.

Wow! 2 whole weeks - you ARE an expert. I was only there for 3 years and integrated completely into their society (I was a chess reporter and newspaper/magazine journalist).

Summer is SHORT . . . the locals joke it only LASTS 2 weeks . . . that's why the only tans come from a salon.

Then your last statement confused me.

Don't ANYbody get me wrong . . . I loved my experience in Ireland and i do have a very special love for Eire. However, reading some of the BLARNEY waxing nostalgic about the "old sod" (they never visited) gets me a bit nauseous . . .

Double negative. I too drank while in Ireland and thought the country was beautiful (along with cold and rainy, which i loved).

Give them a break about the 'waxing nostalgic'. They just haven't been as fortunate as us to have been there before. I know you lived there and that is a little different, but those that have visited hold a special place as well (even those that desire to visit, but haven't been able to yet).

I meant no disrespect or ill will. 🙂
 
I spent two weeks in Ireland, mostly in Dublin. You can keep that city. No thanks. Couldn't afford to drink there! $5 for a pint? Pffffffffffft!

Now get me out to the west cost and now we're talking. In fact, I was so enamored with it, that I would almost consider living there six months out of the year later on in my life. Cold? Pfffffffffft!...-20F is COLD. The 30 degrees they see there is a welcome temp. Also, they rarely see above 80 degrees with little to no humidity. Sign me up!
 
Greetings! I'm 1/2 Irish: O'Berry and Hulet. Just joined the forum. Belong to CPU Magazine forums but have viewed many reviews here. Thought I'd join up. This is my first post and changed my password to match my others.

Lived a couple years in W.Germany - Love any beer that is not 3.2 American! Enjoy a Brandy or Canadian on the rocks also. Rayit
