I think I know the answer, but... iPad Mini now?

So I have a whole bunch of iPads - primarily the 2's, which are used for home automation control.

I bought a couple of Minis a short while back and while I always thought since they were released it might be a better idea to use the Minis as the glorified remotes, it was really hammered home to me when I actually bought the things.

So ever since then I've been plotting replacing all my home iPads with Minis. The question at this time of course is timing: When would I have to wait until if I wanted the next one, and do the retina rumours hold any water (it's not a must, but I'm sure it'd look nicer for the sort of stuff I'm doing)? Or should I just damn the torpedoes and go ahead with replacing them now, as an upgrade would be at best minor?

Do you "need" them now? We don't know if the retina mini rumors hold water. Even if so, it might come in the fall, so it'll be quite a wait.

Well - it would be really nice to get it out of the way as I'll be moving around a lot later on in the year, but no, I clearly don't "need" them now - everything's working OK. It's just I don't particular fancy waiting until late in the year and finding out it's only an A6X upgrade or something.

I'd stay with the 2's for now, rumors I've heard suggest a retina mini this winter and then another spec bump in the spring.
