So I was trying to help my moms friend repair their pc.
Its a HP pc, it didn't have any recovery discs with it, they mailed them all of what they needed.
It did not work.
So I used a XP disc that their son had, and than attempted to change the serial number(the one that came with the HP pc) afterwards.
It did not work at the Activation type screen, kept on saying invalid. so I called them up and they gave me a new Serial number, they asked for the disk with the number on the XP disc. X0- etc...
so did I just mess up their sons Serial number? I think I did, and didn't think anything of it at the time, but now I'm pretty sure I did....
