I think I have pink eye. Do regular doctors know how to diagnose that?

I think I have pink eye in my left eye. I haven't been to a optimologist in 5 or so years, and I do not have one currently picked out in my health plan. I do have a regular doctor in my health plan already. I could pick out an optimilogist and go to them, but I don't know how long that would take...

Do regular doctors know how to diagnose pink eye, and can they subscribe medicine to deal with it? 😕
 
Call your regular doctor, tell him (or his nurse/clerical help) you have pink eye, and were to phone in the prescription. Doubt he will even make you come in for an office visit.

he'll have to look at u for a leats 45 secs then give u a scrpit around here "NC" area it was like 10$. Friend just had it last week
 
Yes a regular doctor can do it. There is supposedly an over-the-counter drug for pink eye that just came out this year. There are 2 or 3 causes for pink eye and the over-the-counter drug cures one of the causes. You might want to try it first, but you might still have to go to the doctor if it doesn't work (ie you have the other versions of pink eye).
 
After you get your eye drops...

wash your hands
wash your sheets
wash everything you have touched in the past 48 hours
wash your hands again

otherwise you'll keep getting it or it will jump from one eye to the other...

I don't remember the name exactly. There is stuff that can make redness go away that isn't a cure for pink eye. Just read the label.

pink eye relief is an antibiotic eye drop - not something you can get OTC...
