How 'bout a weekly 'zine? People can come to the site and print it out or have it emailed to them.
I thought of this cuz I debate/help the people I know at work and the such all the time on computer issues and I think it would be cool to have a kind of newsletter with the past weeks top storys/news/reviews I could leave in the cafeteria, hang from bulletin boards, etc. We could start sending them to people (maybe) leave them in doctors offices, maybe even have a subscribership!!! Us hardcore Anandtechers' could come to the site, print a bunch out and leave stacks of them places (with permission, all legal 'n' stuff mind you) for people to pick up & read. Could even include a buyers guide section once a month, biweekly, whatever...

Whaddya think? I think it would be cool, we would just have to get permission from the boss and someone would of course have to be the one to do put it together every week...
I think it has some merit!!! Would definetly boost membership!!

Not sure if this was included in your idea but have a link to the top threads of the week subdivided into each category. Like 10 threads from general hardware and 2 from each of the other groups (minus hot deals, trade/for sale, and maybe off topic?)
And most importantly a link to the bloody search engine with a quick user guide to the search tool.

Ya I think this good turn out very good for AT. However the thing I see is what would it cost to print all of these, we would do it ourselves(the printing) or some kind of more professional look. Good idea, we just need to keep it flowing.

I'm assuming by 'zine he means an ezine. Didn't anandtech have a weekly newsletter at one point in time for new hardware reviews?

I say take that and add to it. Maybe have a weekly feature like "SBLive vs KT133A conflicts and fixes" or "Top 10 reasons to install the VIA 4in1s". I'd love to see us try and cut down on some of the redundant threads.

Do we need to put together a VIA chipset trouble shooting guide?

I'd like to see a real, paper n' ink magazine put out! Something by users who know what they're doing, as well as like the "coolness" factor.

PC Magazine crossed with MaximumPC.

Well, getting something published is a big deal, but it can't be TOO expensive! I mean, in Canada we have "The Computer Paper" which pretty much sucks, but it's free and full of advertisements. Surely Anandtech could do something similar although it would take a team of either dedicated volunteers or a paid staff.
