What are your interests?
Like pets, be a vet.
Like figuring out how things work, be an engineer. Engineering is for people that like to make stuff just to see it work.
Like burning insects with a magnifying glass, be a nurse (or mortician)

If you like building your own computer, CE might be right for you. But if you're not interested on how things interact on a chip/resistor/capacitor level on those individual boards you put together, CE is not for you.

If you like tearing apart Widnows and breaking it, CS might be for you.

If you don't like software, CE is not for you. Try EE.

If you go EE or CE, do a minor in CS. That way you can always look in multiple fields. I highly recomend doing a major in math, physics, EE or CS with a minor in CS. Even if you hate you're major, you will be highly marketable as a software engineer.

Where do you see yourself 20 years from now? Finish this sentence:
"On a professional level, I _______________"

__ want to be a manager at an engineering based company
__ want to work in fiannce
__ want to be retired, fixing up old cars

ANYTHING is a valid answer.

LOL! That's pretty much what I decided too. (I started business. When people realize that I was a business major before physics, they just have this :Q expression on their face :D)

I took an intro. EE and CS course -- they both were really dull to me. I think it's just because it was all the basics and there wasn't anything "creative" required.

Imported, just do what you like. If you're still thinking about the sciences and engineering, take a calculus course, a physics course, a chemistry course and a bio course. If those don't seem to go work out for you....well, you know what to get away from then.

Try something like writing, art, architecture...something not heavily math based...and see how you like 'em.

I doubt you can make an accurate judement on the curriculum only 2 days into it. Wait until the 3rd semester, that's when the fun starts.

For goodness sake don't pick a major based on projected salaries.

Yes, and join the hordes of fast-food industry employees worldwide. McDonald's wants YOU!

Seriously though, money shouldn't be the only consideration, but it should be one of them. See how far a communication or women's studies major will take you out of college.

you could stay in college and be an academic

Better hope for scholarships and/or a miracle to pay off those undergrad loans.

at my school you can get a TAship and get free tuition + small stipend in return

You can anywhere. But that doesn't cover your undergrad tuition (as any school worth a damn won't have many undergrad TAs) or pay off school loans. The stipend's usually not more than a couple thousand/ month.

you should switch to some easy major like communications cause if your gonna be such a wuss and change your major after only 2 days of being in it you deserve to work at mcdonalds after you graduate.

Right..

I've already worked at places far better than McDonalds..

So you're saying I should spend 4 years learning something I'll probably hate, find not interesting, etc.. then get a job into that field which I'd find not interesting and ending up to hate it even more?

And the only reason I'm in such a hurry is because I'd rather not fall behind on any classes I transfer over too..

no im not saying that, im saying that if you give up on smething as important as your college major in 2 days you are gonna suck at everything in your life.
