I think I hate bikers as much as ricers...or ricer bikers?

So, on my way to work, cruising with the top down as I normally would, I pulled up behind two motorcycles. They were behind a V6 Mustang (just like my old one, could tell it was a V6 - right before this I saw a completely blacked out SN95 that looked heavily modded..I can fuck with lots of people around here, but I wouldn't start with that one..). Anyways, as it turned green, the Mustang pulled off. Well, I'm not one to usually start anything, so I held back and didn't give it too much throttle. The bikers raced off (Mustang was gunning it a bit too...) and the one biker actually cut in front of the Mustang and he had to hit the brakes or else he would have probably clipped him. After seeing it I'm just like "wtf".

Then they pull up to the next stoplight, 2 bikers beside the Mustang. Looks over, Mustang guy revs engine (sounds good, but it was not loud at all and obviously a V6). Bikers rev their fart cans, one guy spins tire. I decided to join in the fun and revved my car as well, because I thought the situation was funny tbh. One biker looked back and I gave him a thumbs up, and the light turned green and they sped off, the guy who cut in front burning a trail of rubber down the road. Mustang guy was sad, I just laughed my way to work.

Anyways, what I'm getting at, is all the bikers around here seem to be fucking idiots. Just as bad as the ricers, and their bikes sound like shit too, but that is just an opinion. I'm not stupid enough to fuck with a bike, I know that is a losing battle. But they seem just as bad if not worse than the ricers.

What are you rambling on about? A fart can on a bike? Pics or it didn't happen.
And "probably would've clipped him?" A V6 Mustang? You realize that the bike was in front because he out-accelerated him and thus was going faster, right? You think the Mustang was going to run him down?

If the biker did not realize how close he was, he might have decreased his velocity below that of the Mustang's, and therefore would have created a situation where collision was likely.

Sense?

Um, he literally cut in front of him ace. Like literally, if you walked in front of me and I had to slow down or else I would have stepped on the back of your shoe.

Assholes in every crowd. For all you know, before you got there, the dude in the V6 Mustang was the one being the ricer and revving at the bikes.

Or the dude on the bike is a low life ambulance chaser type and was trying to get hit on purpose for insurance fraud.

All potential possibilities best summed up preemptively as "people are stupid".

I've seen a few posts on here where people talk seriously about street racing, using these terms like someone "messing with" them or "taking on" some other driver. As far as I can tell they aren't high school kids... so WTF parallel universe is this? Do you guys really race when someone revs his engine next to you at a light?

None.

That is serious junior-league "I think I know how a motorcycle works," right there. You obviously have no concept of how a sport bike rides.

Cars and motorcycles don't walk. To step on the point where their contact patch lifts from the pavement would require you to be under their rear tire. The Mustang does not have any point on it that is low enough and angled properly to reach there.

The rotation of the contact surface does not extend beyond the bounds of the rear tire. To reach the rear tire you have to catch the vehicle. A Mustang V6 isn't going to catch any sport or supersport bike.

Is my sarcasm meter broken, or did you not take your smart pills today? Read Howard's post again.

What kind of motorcycle can't effortlessly pass a v6 mustang? Hell even a 250 ninja should be able to, maybe harleys are that slow???

It doesn't matter how fast you are if you cut in front of someone and then slow down.

When I had my cobra from 99-01 I probably had 2-3 "stoplight drag races" a week. I was like a 2 bit racing whore, I just couldn't say "no". Maybe that explains why I only got ~ 5k miles out of each set of rear tires... When I got the M5 in 01 I very rarely raced anybody, partly because it took me a while to figure out how to drive it "aggressively well" b/c I skipped the "free" trip to learn how to drive it, and partly because, well, it wasn't really a race car anyway. I did, however, race a hennessey venom twin turbo viper once in Fredericksburgh. He either didn't know how to drive or was slightly inebriated (or both), he was so busy smoking his tires that I took him at 2 out of 3 lights. My father in law was in the car with me, he was quite impressed.

In the country on clear roads I would do it... and have. Not in a city though, at least not with the powerful cars we're talking about.

I like adding fuel to the fire sometimes, what can I say.

If you really want to fuck with people, accelerate reasonably quick when you're next to a really nice car. 9/10 times the guy will hammer it and go really really fast. You go up to the speed limit but he just keeps accelerating!

I had some douchenozzle in a 335i messing with me the other day. I didn't bother with him as I was on my bike and would have destroyed him anyway.

Lol! There is no one stupid enough to try and get hit on purpose on a motorcycle.
"hey this could be a good insurance scam. Let me get hit by a 4000lb piece of metal going 70mph. The payout could be huge."

i love it when people do this to me. my truck is pretty throaty sounding, and its a manual trans. ill usually rev it up a bit, then when the light changes ill take off normal, letting them look like tools. one time a kid in his parents beamer did it and got pulled over. i doubt id feel bad if their fast take off got them in an accident they didnt foresee.

i dont do that stuff when my kids are in the vehicle at all either, i always try to teach them to not be a road douche.

I get the occasional person thinking that I want to race. Not really. I'm just in a hurry. Always. :p Had a Subaru Legacy GT smoke me while I was driving my wife's former car (Mazda 3s) and I was giving it all it had as I always did, LOL. I was doing that anyways, just happened to be next to each other. Also had a Nissan Altima race my Mazdaspeed 6. It "beat" me too. The guy was chirping his tires and kept glancing at me. Guess I made his day.
