i bidded on a i5-2500k on ebay and won for 180 bucks...got it today and i dont think its a K series...when i go into the system tab it just says i5-2500...and my asus maximus 4 mobo's level up cpu button is greyed out....
That's a shame. I never really trusted stock photos. I would rather demand actual photos of the things that I'm buying with time stamp. Without the K you're losing a better IGP, HD2000 on the Core i5 2500 and HD3000 on the K version. Also, the overclockability which is the feature that most look forward to when purchasing this chip.http://www.ebay.ca/itm/120997057935?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
im trying to get ahold of him as we speak...sucks cuz it took 1 month to get here since im in canada...if i dont hear from him within 2 days Paypal claim it is....also i never left feedback and he isn't getting positive feedback for this now...BUT the K only means its overclock able correct?

The mobo itself may also not be updating the CPU information that it sends to the OS.
