Here at work I am on a two week payroll. Well, I turned in my time cards on time and was supposed to get paid for 59.5 hours, but they will not pay me for my 36 hour week since the time card was supposedly late. Now I have to wait two weeks for that paycheck and can't pay rent. Thing is though I turned in the time card on Firday, December 20 at 12:00pm and it was not due until Monday, December 23 at 4:00pm.

Man I am pissed.


Update

So I just spoke with the head payroll person and she says that it is my bosses fault afterall. According to her, my timecard was turned in by my boss on December 24. However, this is impossible because my boss was on vacation. Why can't people admit that they screwed up?

That sucks, glad that I don't have to deal with time cards.

We have Employee Timekeeping System (ETS), we log on to
our website to put our times in everyday, so it's pretty easy procedure.

At least you're not in my shoes. I get paid on time....when I get paid. I'm only paid once a month.

It's funny cause I went from weekly pay to bi-weekly pay....but then I switched from hourly to salaried.... When I did that, I was exempt and had to get paid monthly. ACK! But...that's what I get for workin' for da gubment.

Yeah, I'm an exempt salaried also. We used to get paid weekly then last year, it got changed to bi-weekly.

I have no idea. I hope to get an emergency loan from the school. They loan up to $100 for a month with no interest so I might take advantage of that. With that $100 and the 23.5 hours I did get paid for, I should be good.

Is this the first time you'll be late w/the rent, or are you habitually late? If the former, simply explain what happened. Maybe they'll give you a break on the late fees.

If the latter, well, you dug that hole yourself, Sir.
