I said this in my other thread, but I just found out you can't even browse the Internet on the Nintendo Switch!

Which makes me want a gaming phone even more.

I've been looking at the new GPD win 4, i remember the older GPD win didn't have a GPU, but this new one does.

The GPD win 4 runs on windows 11, its basically a pocket sized gaming PC.

I think this brings some competition to gaming phones.

Its still a little big, but not as big as a steam deck.

I think, other than tic-tac-toe or some other bullshit, I've never gamed on a phone. No appeal to me.

Wait...I tried Candy Crush and some other similar game about 10 or so years ago. Wasn't impressed. Deleted the games.

Phone's just for simple time wasters. Any real game is on pc.

That's why I was looking at the GPD win 4, I think it's the only competition to gaming phones if you want something to put in your pocket.

I have of those modern emulator handhelds

It's cool and all but op is kinda right. A handheld is just another device you have to carry. A modern smartphone is sufficient for all kinds of gaming(you can attach an analog controller to your phone as well). I don't carry an mp3 player. I use the same smartphone I game on to listen to music. Not much of a retro gamer so the anbernic handheld just looks pretty on my desk.

So, uh, why'd you get it, when that's basically what they're for?

I played it a little bit, installed some games via usb c thumb drive, changed the OS. Watched you tube videos on it because it boots into android as well as linux

It wasn't super expensive. These are mass produced devices. Anbernic is a big handheld brand. Do not regret getting it. I can gift it to someone like I did with the Nintendo Switch Lite.

Yeah, I know about Anbernic, I've been playing a similar model for over a year, because I like retro games. Just wasn't sure why someone who isn't into retro games would get one.
