Its just a hunch feeling i have , they will blow Nvidia . I wasnt too impressed with the cards performance .. it was only imcrement (Geforce 6800 U or series ). With all the time they spend , it was shocking to me that they didnt go the extra mile. I was hoping for a exceptionally HIGH clock speed card. DOOM 3 is a true test of this cards potential because it will have all the effects programmed into the game .... even still .. i think this card will choke on DOOM 3 . i remember when i got my geforce 4 4600 , hoping that realtime lighting and effects would be smooth ... dam i was wrong .. lagged to hell .. , DOOM 3 shadowing i think will have the same affect . But time will tell , its just how i feel =))))) , i probably sturred the bees nest by doing this lol.
 
doom3 will run better than far cry does on current and the new cards. i expect ~100fps in doom3 with the new cards.

This thread is absolutely pointless, take your rants elsewhere, you can't speculate when ATI hasn't even released its' cards yet.

As for speculation, I think all these ATi zealots are going to be shocked when the X800 doesnt beat the Geforce 6800.... The true test comes a whole month afterwards, with the release of the X800XT.

Yep. The would be squares of dead black in the desktop background, like it couldn't get it together enough to accurately render it. It had texture errors at UT if I remember right as well, but I didn't use that Metal API. I bought it when they first came out, early revision on card/drivers.
