I think it is important to national pride and financial infrastructure that new buildings be constructed. A memorial park is definitely in order, perhaps a memorial parking lot on whatever nation is found responsible.

I completely agree. I think that we schould rebuild it only bigger and bettter. Prove that we are not going to take S#*& like this from anybody.

Modern US military is more than capable of leveling large areas using conventional, non nuclear, weapons. These will primarily be the weapons of choice in a retaliation. While they will require several times the number of bombs and missiles, they don't have as much negative stigma as nuclear weapons.

Should be both. Rebuild and have a memorial. The new building/s should be redesigned a bit too. Stronger/taller/with a memorial. Otherwise the skyline of New York will never be the same. Plus there's the slap in the face to the cowards that did this.
