I test drove a Pontiac GTO this afternoon.

What's this 'tire rub' that you're talking about?

I still want to test drive a GTO.

They had 19" wheels on this car. When accelerating the rear of the car would squat down and the outer edge of the rear tires would rub against the lip of the wheel well. Even under moderate acceleration it would do this. The fvcktards put some bling on there that was totally wrong for that car. I'm thinking the offset must have been wrong on the rear wheels or they were just too wide.

Were these stock or custom?

Custom. Factory wheels are either 17 or 18s, I forgot.

That's what I figured, anything higher than 17 just wouldn't make sense. 18 maybe.

Stock is 17. 18 is available as an option

Too bad you couldn't have tried one with a stick and a better sized wheels.

All-in-all a surprisingly unbiased review when you consider the source 😉

Do I have a reputation here as anti-domestic? 😉

I've owned two Mustang GTs and I liked them very much. I really wanted to test a new Mustang GT but didn't feel like hassling with the dealership sales goons. I'll go and check them out in the next week or so and report back.

Huh? No wonder I don't see any on the road.

I going to be shopping for FWD mid-sized family car soon to replace the Trailbazer. I wonder when they're going to come out with the AWD CTS?

You know, I rented an '05 Ford Escape AWD last weekend and put about 700 miles on it in 4 days and I found it to be a delightful vehicle. It was comfortable, responsive and very pleasant to drive. The controls were well laid out and I didn't feel like blowing it up after spending 3 hours in it at 2:00AM when I arrived at my destination. I think that speaks volumes! 😀

I'm not sure how it fares in the long term reviews but short term this vehicle was top notch (it had 5k miles on it). In fact, I'd consider it were I in the market for such a car.

i kid you not, the red Elise convertible they had sitting there was the SICKEST looking car i had ever seen, no ferrari, or lambo could touch it, it was just plain mean.

OMG! Hell is freezing over!

Nav systems are cool for about a month. Then you realize that you really have no use for them, and that spending $2000 on something that doesn't make your car preform better was fvcking stupid. I mean, for christ sake, do you really need your car to tell you where the local Chinese restaurant is every time you go?

My wife is in love with Avis Assist. She drives in many unfamiliar cities. It's like an OnStar and NAV system combined. GM needs to combine their OnStar with their NAV system and they'd have a blue haired magnet.

Yep, I drive up to Los Angeles a couple times a month and every once in a while I go to different places I've never been. We also go to Palm Springs once or twice a year and it would be very nice to have a nav system in my car.

Meh like has been said no fair trial with the stupid bling mags and auto 😛

It would have been a totally different experience (i suspect for the better) with a decent set of wheels/tires and a manual box....

Edit-A car this expensive should at least have a navigation system. Why GM doesn't offer one on this car is beyond me.

Who the hell needs a navigation system except soccer moms, who wouldn't even drive a GTO in the first place..?

Have you ever driven a car with Navi? They are quite useful. My next car will likely have one.

Yes I have. And no, it wasn't useful in any way, shape or form. I always know where I'm going and I always know at least 2 ways to get there.

Maryland (and Virginia - where I am) is easy to get around. Try going to CT, CA, or NY and get to places without checking a map constantly.

If they had kept the 'Monaro' name, I'd like them better...I just hate they way GM took the easy way out with a re-badge.

i love Holden 😉
