who the F pays for 3k for even a full on toilet replacement? I had to replace the toilet myself once, and although it wasn't a simple task, it could be done properly by yourself, and not by a plumber. That just tells me that that it shouldn't be more than a couple hundred MAX for labor alone, unless the toilet costed your $2800.
 
Cancel the check, that is illegal. you have 3 days to reverse payment on service such as that. toilet cost is about $200 for a nice one, and well less tahn $300 to put one in. The contractor was playing on your GF being a girl.

Yeah really. My parents had a guy redo our downstairs bathroom for less than that. That involved ripping out the old shower, the walls, and the old sink, putting up new panelling, a new shower fixture, a new sink, running new pipes, and reinstalling the old toilet.

Normally we lock all the poop issue threads, but I called TBS, had them run it all through their computer, and they took 5 minutes to respond, because the guy said he was "LMAOPIMP", and yes sir, this is extremely funny.

That has to be one of the most rediculous things I've heard in a while. I can see plausibly how she reasoned her way through all of that... I just don't see why.
