I swear I have OCD when it comes to my computer

I cringe when I have to install new programs and I still feel like my computer is dirty after I uninstall them. I can't stand how uninstalls leave things behind such as in the folder where it was installed and in the registry.
I watch my memory usage when my computer starts up to make sure everything is normal and after I close programs to see how much it falls. I restart after I use MS Word, WS_FTP, etc. or before I play CS even though I'm pretty sure I really don't need to worry about such things.
I reformat whenever I do a major uninstall (I think I've done it four times in the past week and I'll do it again when Gaim 2.0.0 comes out).

Are any of these things legitimate concerns or is it all in my head?

I'd say you're taking it a tad too far.

Better than the alternative though, of letting a million spyware programs get into your computer though. Just like it's probably better to disnfect your room every 15 minutes than it is to have your room look like a dumpster.

isn't this a waste of a step? if you're gonna uninstall, and then reformat, why not just reformat?

and if you know you're gonna do it that much, make an image and reimage when you want to start fresh, takes about 6 minutes.

You're taking it deep into "I need a straightjacket to keep me from hurting myself" territory IMO.

Re-install your OS when a new version of GAIM comes out?

Well... =/ ...I want to make sure Gaim 2.0.0 is still nice and clean before I switch to it... (I have Miranda, Trillian, IM2, EAC, FLAC Frontend installed too because I wanted to test them so it's not just Gaim 1.5.0)

You are really weird.

And you seem to have a lot of time to waste seeing as how you have reformatted 4 times this week alone. Reinstalls take 1 or more hours. Get help!
