Running my first sprint review and sprint planning as a temporary interim scrum master while our regular guy is out.

Way more scary than any sort of natural disaster I could think of!
 
Aaaah, SCRUM.

We just started using that here, it's been getting a lot of controversy on whether it's a good or bad thing. Metrics have been backing up the claim that it's helping, while engineers beat their chests and say it's the devil. My roommate is a Dev for the same company I work at, and he ranted for an hour about how silly it is when I mentioned it.

I guess it's all about how you use it.

Of course metrics will back up the claim that it's good, because you're forced to fit your workday into the metrics. There's so much massaging the numbers at the end of the sprint that it's nearly impossible to make the metrics look bad.
