I did my taxes last night and ended up with a bigger tax return than I anticipated.

I walk out the door this morning and my wife's minivan dumped all of her transmission fluid overnight.

A balance to all things...

I think this is probably more ying/yang than karma, the latter being more payback for something good or bad you did to someone else.

Nevertheless, its better to fix the car now than blow a tranny out on the road somewhere.

Its probably just a gasket leak, $200 max to fix. But it cost me about $2500 last time I blew a tranny in my '87 300zx. Pick your poisen.

That is what I'm hoping. But the fun part is getting it somewhere where it can be fixed. I'm not thrilled about paying a tow truck but I don't want to do any damage to the transmission by driving it either.

fix it yourself in the driveway. if its just a seal, pop the pan and replace gasket. then drive it to a shop and have it checked out.

and ask danny bonaduche about blowing trannies. hes an expert =P

That happened to me with the economic stimulus payment last year - I got $1500 then my cat needed surgery and I had to replace the timing belt on a car - killed the whole payment.
