I have a site set up, but i have no idea on how to set up an internet store.

I'm using lunarpages as my host. and they have two store templates. agora and interchange shopping carts.

I'm an extreme newbie in these fields, so any information you guys can gimme will be a plus.

you can pay someone to do it for you, or you can look up the documentation for one of those shopping cart applications and start reading.

or you could just use eBay, fail at your internet store and then go back to normal life.

Search LunarPages forums for cart, ecommerce or e-commerce you will find dozens of threads.

I agree on the OsCommerce plug by RossMAN.

We are currently setting up a site that will launch soon that is running off of this system.

It has features built into the product that our $100,000+ ATG system (which runs our main site) does not have - did I mention that OS Commerce is open source and free?!!!!

I'm surprised you didn't know about osCommerce.

Please go here and SEARCH for osCommerce you'll find a lot of info.

Hi Everyone!

Ross told me you were talking about Osc, and wanted me to chime in. I have been doing this for awhile and have been doing custom work for the past 6 months.

The last project I completed is here: Dottie Doolittle, and I have three more that I am working on right now. I will post those back in here when they are launched in the next couple weeks.

I did not do the design. I took the design someone else did and put the storefront "inside" of it. I have done everything from installing basic mods to creating a payment gateway between Osc and the bank of your choice. There are some mods that dont play nice together, so be careful to backup before you try anything and check the forums to see if there are more than a few complaints about the mod before you attempt it.

One of the exciting things that is happening now is that there is a mod for an Ebay Auction Manager. I have been using this in my husbands storefront for almost a year now, and we have seen sales increase by 27% this past summer as well as reaching PS status. We are able to connect to Ebay and pull our auctions in and manage them fully from within our Osc store admin section. The lister was recently released and we are working on getting that ramped up as well. There is a Turbo Lister to Osc translator so auctions can be pulled in fairly quickly. The ebay auction winner is automatically sent an email at the end of the auction with a link that brings them back to the Osc store where they checkout through our system. We maintain the information and are able to upsell as well. The storefront is located at Salty Dog Marine, Inc..
The Osc forums can be a jungle, and they are not easily searched either. I waste alot of time there myself!
Dont get discouraged, ask questions, and be prepared to put your changes in reverse if something doesnt go right.

If anyone has any questions or comments, you can reach me here, via email, or Ross can usually catch me online. I will be happy to help!
