LOL!! It took a while but I got a great job with a national company.

The hard part was starting with math at basic algebra and fractions when I started college. I was so uneducated.

Public school for K-6
Church school for 7-8
Homeschooled for a year or two after that. Learned close to nothing because my mom isn't really smart.

Started college and had to take lots of stuff I should have learned in Junior High or Highschool.

It's been fifteen years or so. I didn't start college until 19 or 20. I just worked crappy jobs figuring out what to do.

So it took you 4-5 years longer then "normal"? At minimum I'll be 27-28 when I get my degree. Probably older though.

Yeah, something like that. I'm 26 now.

It's not so much the time thing. It's just that I got a hard degree from a good school, RIT, when my starting skills were so lackluster. It shows that you can accomplish things regardless of how you are handicapped by life.

at least you had time to post about your new girly friend, and that upon graduating you make more than your whole family combined. 'cuz without those details, i'd be lost in life.

Congratulations on your degree. Also, excuse my ignorance, but doesn't RIT require some kind of high school diploma for entrance? How does home-schooling play into the equation? Again, excuse my ignorance.

Of course I couldn't get into a good school without a diploma, and missing alot of highschhol basics. I went to a community college for almost three years. I took alot of basic math and science classes to catch up. Then I got an AS degree there, before transferring to RIT.

Ah ok, that is very impressive. Congratulations again, it takes a lot of determination to do what you did.

Sort of. My parents took me out of school because they didn't like the few bad things you learn in public school. But you can't shelter kids forever from the real world.
