I still wanna OC, dagnabbit

I got this rig back in december with the plan to OC, though it's been a failure. It's a crappy CPU, but i think heat is a big prob too. Ever since i got it and up until now, it boots up at 48c and goes to 56-59c under max load, or when i'm just playing games. I've only tried to OC a few times and that was way back when i got everything. Highest i could possibly get was up to 2.7, and i had to raise the voltage to 1.65. It was unstable though. I still want to OC, I'd like to hit 3ghz...i'd be more than happy with that. Then i can stay with that until i upgrade again 2 years or so down the road. So i guess i'll need better cooling in there...what should i get?

your chip revision is probably old and unlikely to oc as well as current chips. december was pretty far back.

Tell me something i don't know. It's about the worst 2.4 you can get. I figured that out a while ago. I don't expect it to be as good as the 2.4c 800fsb. I think it would be a miracle if i even hit 3ghz. Is it possible?

I just want to have some idea on what kind of cooling i should get, i'm clueless about cooling. I need just a little advice. All i know is i don't what anything noisy. I'd like to see temps down to around 32 before i OC... i don't know if that's possible or not.
