I'm sorry to hear that, Narzy. It never ceases to amaze me that some people can be so...un-human. The really sad thing is that they seem to enjoy inflicting pain and sorrow on other people for no apparent reason. It's a lot easier to say than to do, but I just choose to ignore them and feel sorry for them because they must have a truly miserable life and they are just trying to bring everyone down to their level.

Tell your better half that you love her, and feel free to stop by (just here, not OT) any time. 🙂

I recommend you to look at Hardforum.com - its similar community to Anandtech forum and their forum is moderated much better.

Moderation of this forum is IMO very bad - right now I am discussing with mod fact that someone doesnt like my F@H sig and because of that I have to stop using it - instead of annoying people who didnt break any rules mods should just ban all those repeated violators of rules in PN and OT - forum would IMO be much better without them.

I empathize with your plight, and I second the recommendation for the [H]ard|OCP Distributed Computing forum. It's a much more active community there and frankly, much more enthusiastic about what they do.

I remember moderation issues and OT people made me leave once. I came back and I hope you will too.

This is why I post anything that I need opinions on in here. OT is a sh!thole, and I never post something there that I worry about going back to read. Or I post so late that I know who is going to be on that late and will get their feedback, and the thread dies off by morning when the normal morons get there. And it has gotten to the point that you can predict with a fair amount of accuracy what the replies will be to any post, as it is the same crap over and over and over and over, ad naseum.

I'm especially sorry to see you leave DC because of ATOT. 🙁 Next time (as I hope there will be), just do a post in here, and start it with "OT:".

Yes. The only place I'd expect the response some people gave would be 4chan.
 
There's alot of new kids in the last couple years that are just plain assholes. I haven't seen more than a couple new members join in the past year that I think contribute positively. Just a bunch of lame comments, memes and childish BS.
There have always been trolls, but it's getting ridiculous, not only in OT, but other forums as well. Trolls used to at least amuse, now they simply annoy and not much is done.
 
I'm sorry to see you go Narzy, you've always been an asset to the forums & a great TeAm mate.
We'll be here if in the future might reconsider.
