the H22A has a few turbochargers and supercharger kits you can look into. i'm not a hardcore car guy, so i'm not sure how it'd fit into your engine bay.

Car has already got a full suspension under it, Tokico Illumina shocks, matching 1.25" lowering sport springs and a pair of Suspension Techniques sway bars. Once I get some real wheels/tires (I still want to smoke some people on stock 14's w/ wheel covers😉) it should handle even better.

Bought it from Honda Motors Online which is local to me so I was able to go pick it up. I'll be doing the install myself with the help of a couple friends of mine. I thought about turbo for a while but I don't have the time to do it. This is my daily driver so I can't have it on blocks for a month while we make the piping for the turbo. Instead I'll prolly keep this car all-motor; cams, etc. We'll see what happens with it....

It's a freakin' bumblebee motor. I assume you have the Fart Can Exhaust that goes with it?

200hp out of a 2.2 4-banger with good mileage

You gotta rev that ting to 8 grand to get all 200 HP and don't you think for a second that if you drive around shifiting at 7 or 8 grand that your gas milage will be good at all. The milage will suck, the Honda boys calculate their milage shifting low probobly around 3-4 grand and DO NOT have a heavy footy, at 3-4 grand you are looking at probobly 140 hp...

What does that mean then? What engine produces peak power @ 3-4k RPM??!?!? This is often peak torque land for larger cap motors, but peak power? Never.

Horsepower peak is about 7200 I belive. Torque band is fairly flat actually but it peaks about 5200.

Looks like an interesting project . I'm going to be doing something similar sooner or later, except that I'm going to opposite way: I've got a good engine; what I need is the rest of the vehicle 😛 . I wrecked a '93 Blazer S-10 last month - bent the frame toward the front and screwed up the front axle - but the engine and the rear end appear to be in good shape. So my dad and I are keeping our eyes open for anything that will accept a Chevy 4.3L V-6; preferably another 4x4 Blazer/Jimmy. Hmm...should I be disappointed that an engine w/ nearly 2x the displacement and two additional cylinders produces exactly the same amount of power? 😛 (Sorry, Don't know that much about mechanical work; I'm learning as I go on this one. Fortunately my dad and a few of his friends do know what they're doing.)

Good luck with the transplant.. I have all the respect for people who do their own work and not pay some shop to do all the work then brag bout it.

The mileage ain't so hot if you actually rev it up high enough to get those advertised HP numbers. That's what I dislike about hondas (other than their anonymity) is that what there is of the power is too far up in the RPM band. I mean, if you wanted a fast car, you could buy something faster for 2 grand. Gotta have a hobby I guess...

Come on, have a little fun and build a go-kart powered by that thing. Would be fun to run around on beating the snot out of ricers with. Just think of the looks they would give you when your floored it in your go-kart and left them 2 blocks back. Hehe

You got yourself a deal. Dont you need a new transmission to go with that anyways?

Nope. The tranny that came with the car would bolt right on. Some people do it that way but the difference in ratios makes a difference.

Got a source for those times? I keep a spreadsheet of verified times with sources for old cars, but nothing new.

once vtec engages~ prelude engines fly~

As long as they're not in a car that weighs a metric ton (i.e. a prelude)
2200lbs? I thought the Prelude weighed more.

If I said I bought a wing and some "Z3" style fenders, I could see that. But I go out and buy a true performance mod and still get bashed. Some enlightened people we are

if you don't want flames, sometimes you've just gotta go.... "i just bought a chevy smallblock, and am in the process of putting a supercharger on it and dropping it into my (insert domestic car here)"

sad sometimes... so sad *tear*

ACK! I'm on drugs...point being, Prelude is too heavy for that engine to make it fast.
