It's a Canon S500. I was at Oktoberfest and somewhere during the drunk night the button went missing. Everything is fine except now there is no button to take pictures with. I think the camera is well past warranty. What should I do? Call Canon? Look for a camera store to see if they have buttons lying around...?

Don't know how reliable these guys are. Maybe you can take the part number and order it direct from Canon.

I am just as confused as you are, I don't know when where or how it happened.

Well... I would call Canon and ask for a parts manual for your SD500. They'll probably email it to you in pdf format. Then take your camera apart using this:

and consult the parts manual to see which part(s) are missing, and if you can replace it. Then it's a matter of ordering the parts and replacing them.
