I slipstreamed my XP to SP1-is the 130GB limit gone ?

I slipstreamed my copy of Windows XP to Windows XP SP1.
if I use my slipstreamed setup on a harddisk bigger than 130gb, will all the space be recognised at the very beginning ( the DOS setup ) ?

C'mon people,
SP2 is CRAP !
it's annoying, buggy and useless.

I hate its firewall.
i'd rather use my NIS instead...

I agree, while it IS "technically more secure", it is just as bad as battlefield 2. It slows down the machine significantly and I hate it, I refuse to upgrade to it. Stick with SP1, you know for a fact with SP1 your software will work, if you need to, you can upgrade to what ever service pack they have in the future that may fix the problems SP2 created though it seems microsoft could really care less.

English isn't my mother tounge, but I believe the expression is "Couldn't care less".
That's off topic of course, what I really wanted to say is that the(relatively few given the scope of it) problems that appeared with Sp2 in the beginning have mostly been worked out long since, and if you're having problems, significant slowdown for example, I'd suggest that the problem lies elsewhere.

Staying with Sp1 if just silly unless you have a very specific reason to do so.

And to the OP, turning off the Windows Firewall(yeah I agree, it sucks, but I'd say that about every "personal firewall" I know of) takes a few seconds.

Yeah, SP2 sucks so badly that most companies with far more computers than yours are applying it to their machines 🙁 Of the 100 or so we've applied it to, not single problem. I think you are imagining things at this point - as Sunner points out, almost all the issues have long been resolved.

No, it is not any of what you list. The Security Center might annoy you, but it can be turned off.

And if you don't like the firewall, turn it off.
