i looove sleeping for long periods... longest sleep binge i've went on once was sleeping for 8 hours at a time, and being awake for only 30 min at the most in between... that was awesome. I slept almost 24 hours total w/ less than 30 min break in between 6-8 hour sleep periods. I felt absolutely refreshed afterwards... The week prior, I only slept 2-3 hour nights...

Most I've ever slept straight on w/o waking up was around 16 hours.

Might want to try Tylenol Simply Sleep.

I used this product for a few months. Although it didnt help me fall asleep any faster, it did put me into a deep sleep. I woke up late a few times while taking this product.

Interesting. I need to get to the VA docs to get something prescription strength. I might give this stuff a try too though. Thanks.

Tylenol Simply Sleep active ingredient - Diphenhydramine HCl 25 mg in each caplet

Tylenol PM active ingredients - Acetaminophen, Diphenhydramine HCl
25 mg in each caplet

Simply sleep just lacks Acetaminophen, leaving you with only the active sleeping ingredient. This is the same stuff that's in Benedryl. If the PM's aren't working anymore, you are getting a resistance to Diphenhydramine HCl. If you need to take pills to sleep I suggest you try some Melatonin if you want to go the natural route, or get some Ambien or Lunesta from the Doc for some prescription power.

Doh lol, I guess I should have read the entire thread before I PM'd Chocobo, you just told him the exact same things I PM'd to him.. There is no sense in taking tylenol if hes not in pain, just get pure Diphenhydramine tabs and take slightly more since he has built a tolerance for it. Or like you say, Melatonin.. but that never worked on me Valerian Root Extract (lemon bombed) work pretty well for me though.

I have tried Melatonin, and it has absolutely no affect. I'll see about switching to something without the Tylenol though. Although I will still keep the Tylenol PM handy--I also suffer from headaches and migraines (migraines with side effects of stroke like symptoms actually), and I seem to have less headaches & migraines with the Tylenol PM every night. No lcue if it is a direct result, or just a result of something else, etc... But thanks for the info ya'll.

ROFL. This sailors' tolerance for alcohol is high too. (Sipping on some homemade limoncello right now though).

In all seriousness though, alcohol doesn't do much. I can drink far too much for it to be healthy to use it as a sleep aid, even if aiding another sleep aid. Alcohol & Tylenol PM -- yeah, my liver loves me.

I usually sleep around ~8 hrs.

I remember once as a kid, I slept for ~40+ hours. Came back from school in afternoon (was tired), quickly ate lunch and went to sleep at ~3PM, woke up next day at ~12 for ~5-10 min, ate something, back to sleep, woke up for ~10 min for dinner and then woke up the next morning...I can say I was FRESH :D

I remember I messed up my sleeping habits soo bad one summer. It all started by me sleeping in one afternoon. That night, I couldnt fall asleep. It turned into a vicious cycle, and my entire summer before 10th grade was spent sleeping in all day and waking up around 8 or 9pm, and then going back to sleep around 6am.

I try to get a lot of sleep and try to sleep in. Truth is I can't. 8 hours a sleep is the max. I guess I always have to be up and running...
