I don't care about fashion sense in the least, but jumping in front of a car is just dumb.

Although something equally dumb I saw while driving home one night: the highway off-ramp leading to my house is one of those in which it loops around over the highway. This particular looping has fairly sharp turns, and--when combined with the trees on the side of the road--leads to essentially no forward-looking visibility until you're about 10-15 feet from each turn.

As I was coming home, I made my way around the second turn, and was quite surprised to see a man walking with his two children IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. Of course, as soon as he heard my tires squeel after I slammed on the breaks, he immediate grabbed one of the children and jumped into the median. I still wonder what exactly was going through the guy's mind that would lead him to think what he was doing was safe.

Deputies say Robert Parfait of Houma, was arrested after an argument with a couple of teens trying to cross the road. According to authorities, Parfait was driving south on La. 57 on Saturday when two teens tried to cross the road. There was an argument and one teen is said to have made an obscene gesture. Parfait then allegedly turned his car around and hit the 19-year-old. Deputies say he stopped for a moment before leaving the area. Deputies say they later arrested Parfait in Bourg at the home of Carl Parfait. Carl Parfait was arrested and booked with obstruction of justice. Robert Parfait was booked with attempted second-degree murder.

since the op last visited this thread 2 hours ago, and that news story was made several hours before that, i'm inclined to believe the 2 incidents are unrelated.

I check my rear view on my way down the on-ramp and his friend is laughing his ass off. I hit the moron pretty hard. I hope he feels it in the morning.

Good lord. I hope he files a police report about it and someone on this forum mails a copy of your post to the local police department :roll:
