I over heard some Asian chick ask some black dude yesterday "isn't it a sterotype that blacks like fried chicken?" and he said "oh, well I do love me some fried chicken" so I don't see the problem.

True story btw.

Thats pretty much what I wanted to say when I came in here. That ad isnt racist. Americans are so used to calling "RACISM!" any time they see ANY minority doing something that isnt awesome or sophisticated. Its actually getting pretty damn annoying. But nobody ever does anything about it.

Little news flash for the ignorant: BLACK PEOPLE EAT CHICKEN! This is not a lie, it is fact.
Of course, white people eat chicken too, but no one thinks about that stuff. The ad (especially an Australian based one) is not REQUIRED to have every race, gender, ethnicity and religious background in there, eating chicken. Its only in America we have gotten used to the bullshit idea that every group does everything all the time. Americans are spoiled, and their ability to whine about shit that doesnt even exist is pretty good proof of that.

My friends dad is extremely racist. He doesn't quite like black people (he doesn't quite like anyone, but blacks instantly give him rage face).

Before knowing this I asked her if she needed a ride to a meet up our friends were having in the middle of the summer. When I got there, he gave me the dirtiest look EVER. He calmed down considerably once I spoke to him for a few minutes.

"Oh, you speak clear English! So...do you have a real major, too?"

Yup. Guess he just doesn't like the ghetto black people.

but no, I actually heard the other day on NPR some dude was discussing this (forget the specific topic), and mentioned that Indian is currently en vogue among the majority of tribes. Native American is now seen to be more offensive.

But you know, like with eggs or "good fat/bad fat," the experts and those who care about such things will flip the switch in another few years.

How the fuck is stereotyping = racism? This is even dumber than the controversy over that Intel print ad with the sprinters. If my race was known for being strong, muscular and proficient at activities requiring great physical form, I would be pretty fucking happy at winning the gene lottery. So what if I also had remarkably simple dietary preferences.
 
Meh on being racist/stereotypical it could have been much worse. Personally I have a bigger problem with a guy who wastes a good seat at sporting events. Who goes to a game to sit on their hands?
 
The stupidest comment in that whole segment was not in the commercial but by the "newsanchor" girl who said "ohhh, those African-Americans......" Uh, moron, they're in Australia - they aren't African-Americans.
 
It's sad how everything here in America turns racist. How many other countries had slaves and had slaves for longer than we did? How many other countries have Affirmative Action? How many other countries always cry racism like America does? I think it's ridiculous how much the word racist is thrown around here in the States. It's pathetic.
 
You would think as the fattest country in the world that they would at least offer a salad over there for the fat kiwi's. 🙁
