When I first got this system and booted the DOS/windows screens were always corrupted and I needed to boot like 3 or 4 times before everything was ok. Lately graphics corruption started to appear in games and sometimes in the windows desktop as well. Reboots sometimes fixed it, sometimes it took longer like 7-10 reboots. About a week ago I boot up and have the DOS/Windows graphics corruption again but this time no amount of reboots would fix it. Sometimes I'd boot and within one to five minutes the screen would corrupt. So I said this is it, time to RMA. I was going to put my old 7200 in until I got a replacement but when I took the AIW 9800 Pro out I noticed that the heat sink was moving or wobbling just a little so I took a can of compressed air and sure enough it seemed as if there was dust on the GPU or where the heatsink made contact.... so after giving the card a good dust cleaning I tightened the heatsinks rubber gommets holding the heatsink to the card and it was now more secured to the card. So I put it back in boot and bam no cold boot issue no graphics corruption nothing, perfect. All problems seemed to have gone, no cold boot problems either anymore even after having the system down for a day where before I always had the cold boot issue. It's been a week now and so far so good, not one graphcis glich or problem.
I'd recommend that if your seeing some minor graphics corruption pull your card out and give it a good cleaning with compressed air and make sure the heatsink is secured. Give it a try and maybe it will fix your corruption problems.
