That was part of my strategy for Alpha Centauri. There's nothing more satisfying than unleashing PlanetBuster Missiles upon unsuspecting foe(s). =)

Agreed! I had managed to quit cold turkey but I'm feeling the itch again. :D

Civ 2 for life

Civ 2 had the worst AI ever. Countries would randomly start wars with you, just for the fun of it.

I was addicted. Then I moved and lost the CD. I still get the shakes sometimes but I'll get through this :)

I miss Civ 3. I haven't played it since I've gotten a Mac (even though they make a Civ3 for OS X). Has anyone heard any news about Civ 4? Are they making it?

Back in the Diablo II days, I would spend every ounce of free time on that game... same with Counterstrike (in the ~1.4 days). WoW was my last addiction, but it became too much of a job after level 35... it just wasn't fun anymore.

Civ2 is definitely better than Civ3 IMO... I was playing Civ2 a week or 2 ago. Finished the game which takes a couple days.

Yes, Civ 4 is on the way, in late 2005.

for some reason I always liked civ II better, but I think I just didn't tak time to get used to civ III...plus, I played civ II all the time in college!

to quote Mith:
Nope, Civ 3 had some problems with it that made me not play. Probably fixed but it angered me that a galleon could sink my submarine.

Yeah...I once won against a nuc with a militia man somehow. I also think I beat a fortified rifleman in a city with an elephant (civ II stuff).

Turn Based Strategies have always been that way for me. Games like HL2 you could finish in a half a day if you play it all day long. However turn based games where meant to last for days on end yet I feel some what compelled to try to finish them in a 20 hour span which is damn near impossible sometimes.
