WHen I was at school today, I saw a number of people that have their faces painted grey, and I wasn't really sure why, so I asked one of them and he said that his face is grey because he is dead, and then handed me a blue piece of paper. So I read it to find out what the hell this guy and others were thinking. It said that they represented the people being killed in the poorest country in the world as the result of an imperialistic war. They are also holding a rally at the school in a few days and have invited people to come and get their faces painted grey so they can be "dead" too. I thought it was pretty weird that people would do this, what do you think?

<< These people are in there twenties, this is at the college I go to. >>

This sounds about right. We get some strange rallies on campus here too. One was an anti-abortion protest (that wasn't given a greenlight by the proper people) that had the single most disgusting pictures I'd ever seen blown up on person-sized sandwhich boards. The worst part about it was they had little KIDS handing out literature, kids that SHOULD have been in school. I find something wrong with using children who are easily maninupluated to work an agenda, no matter how I feel about the issue.

I'm assuming the "imperalistic war" is the US turning Afgahnistan into the pot hole capital of the world? When I thought they were high school kids I was thinking "ah, to be ignorant and idealistic," but since they're college age I have to amend my statement to "ah, to be stupid." By the time you hit voting age/college you really should start paying more attention to reality.

My friends and I were talking about dressing up in army clothes with army paint on out faces to "represent" fallen americans.

I would walk up to one of them and punch them in the face. Those ignorant imbeciles didn't paint their faces grey when 7000 Americans and people from other nations lost their lives, did they?

I hate people like that ... There is this guy at my school (highschool, obvious by his imbecility) who 5 days after the WTC attack instant messaged me saying "I feel sorry about the poor afghanis." I swear, I should have beaten the kid up the next day, he's such an annoying, ignorant kid. I understand why he may feel sorry for the Afghans, but I don't remember him messaging or talking to me after the WTC attack--why does he have to message me about the Afghans? I think it's just so he can look like a radical, that is the "cool" thing to do, isn't it?

i love it when people say others are "ignorant" without ever having spoken to them, or without presenting any factual, relevant information of their own.

I'm not condoning what those people did, but unless you've attained spiritual enlightenment and have become attuned to the cosmos and forgot to tell us all, don't call anyone ignorant. Personally, i don't think the answer to violence is more violence. Although i do think that what was done to america was definatly evil those who did it deserve to be punished.

the world is messed up eh?
