I saw Twilight on Monday

my 15 year old daughter wanted a father/daughter day since we had the day off from school. So we saw Twilight. I had no interest in seeing the flick but i must say i really enjoyed it. im now reading the book she got for xmas.

I walked out halfway through. About the part where she says "You're a vampire..."

I think it would be a lot better if the heavily fictional parts weren't so obviously made up for a child's imagination.

I was basically forced to read that book by my wife (well, guilt tripped is more like it). The book was OK, nothing great, but OK. Not something I would have read on my own, but after being constantly hounded by my wife to read it, I finally relented and sped through it. Compared to the book the movie sucked. There was a lot of stuff I considered relatively important to the plot of the book that they just left out of the movie but replaced with stuff that didn't need to be there. Plus the actress they had playing the girl Bella was horrible, one of the worst I've seen. Her reaction towards the end in the hospital when the vampire Edward said he was going to leave was so bad I started laughing in the theater.

It was not a good movie. Like, it was awful acting, and according to the gf, it strayed so far from the book.

I wish I could say my wife is one of them but some friend from another state mailed her a copy with no warning insisting she "HAS!!!!" to read it. 🙁

A friend of mine was meeting guys from a dating Web site before the hoildays. She says that one of the guys suggested to her that they should see Twilight (he wanted to see Twilight). The conversation degraded from that point into my arguing that the guys is a closeted homosexual and her trying to defend him.

He has not yet lost the title of "gay guy" (I'm bad with names).

Mine did. First she was obsessed with Twilight. Then after seeing True Blood she went out and bought all the Sookie Stackhouse books and blew through those in like a week.
