I saw the most horrid thing today

This morning, on the way to work, i saw the most disgusting thing ever...


It was a Ford Expedition with Clear rear brake lights, clear rear 3rd brake light, clear front turn signals and clear front side markers. On top of it, it was a GREEN Expedition. I got a good laugh out of it when i passed him, a teenage kid, head leaning to the right so he could practically rest on the passenger seat. We stopped at the next light and he revved at me!! LOL, i peeled out and left him with a nice view of how rear lights should look, RED!!!

I'm done ranting...

I thought the side markers had to be yellow in front and red in the rear or have the rules changed.

I just don't get the big thing about the clear lens craze, must be because I'm getting old.

they have to have amber reflection and they have to blink amber when turning, also, rear lights must reflect red and light up red.

Most police officers dont realize that though.

I sometimes get revved at when I laugh at those civics people screw up. I mean, if you are going to make your car funny looking, why get pissed when people laugh at it?

When the rev at me, and I can tell their car is all show, I will jsut floor it through 1st and 2nd. That generally will show the type-r/si sticker boys what for.

The best part is that I have only been beat once by a car that revved me. I drive a 98 ESCORT. Holy economy car, Batman! If you make your car look remotely like a type-r, PLEASE, be sure you can race an Escort!!!

What the civic sticker boys don't know is that the escort base engine has 10 more hp than the civic base model. hehe.

I had a friend get busted for that not too long ago. Believe me they can and will bust you if they are in the mood. I personally think it looks like sh!t, but hey, live and let live.

I go to school in Davis. In a town where the police don't see real action, they will definately bust you for lights. And not having your license plate on the front of the car. And for not coming to a complete stop while riding a bike. And for jaywalking. And for those clear plastic covers people put over their rear license plates. And they will follow you into the parking lot to see if they can get you with an MIP. And they will pull you over for a BUI (biking under the influence). Yeah, this is everyday life for cops that don't get no real action.

I think that clear tail lights are just another example of evolution at work.

Anyone stupid enough to replace their red lenses with clear ones that emit a weak pink glow on braking just so they can impress other riceboys deserves the inevitable rear-end collision that results.

i dont understand why those black outs are still around. They really effect the power you your headlights.

There are laws against that. Clear or black out are against most local laws. He will find a cop shortly and get this taken care of.

You think that's horrid? Imagine the same vehicle lowered so that it rides as low as a Corvette. Then have ungly wheels that stick out 6" on each side. I;ve seen it done and it's disgusting. I've ranted about it before.

Think about what you have:

It's not sporty
It's not uiilitarian
It's still top heavy
Major risk of CV joint failure
No resale value (like anyone will pay money for that crap)
No warranty (cutting your springs and other useless mods tends to void warranties)

Oh, please note that I realize I have a crappy car. I also realize that putting a sticker on it makes it no faster. A real SI/Type-R would kill me, for sure. The sad thing is I don't think I have ever seen a real SI/Type-R. They are all fake stickers.

In any case, you should be ashamed if you rev me then I smoke you. That is just embarrasing. That is almost as bad as being smoked by a metro. Agh.

Eventually I will have a real job. And a real GTI. No stickers, no flare, just some extra work under the hood .
