An amazing performance by Joaquin Phoenix, i knew he was a force from Gladiator.

I appreciated the film but i gotta say i was bit bored and underwhelmed.

Its a character study.
But the studio wanted to get rich so they promoted it as an action film.

I didn't think it would be an action film. The movie met my expectations... all bit too well.

Unlike 'There will be blood' and 'no country for old man', joker's descent to madness felt too linear for me as a character study.

Less rewatchability as well.

I hate the idea of this movie:

- It's a ripoff of Taxi Driver
- It's supposed to be a one-off unrelated to anything else
- If it's a huge hit,DC will retcon the entire universe to fit the story
- If it's a flop the whole movie doesn't matter, so what's the point?

Ripoff of taxi driver? I could see that.
I don't care what DC will to do their universe, that doesn't change anything about this movie in itself.
As I said, the movie's bit underwhelming, but Joaquin killed it.

Ugh .. "Phoenix" was pretty darn mediocre in gladiator. I mean, i couldn't tell if he was any good because his character was ridiculous. That whole film needs to go away.
