Stern was commenting on how terrible this movie must be if they wouldn't screen the movie for him (ie give him a screener copy.)

movies are a bad idea for a first date IMHO. Going out to coffee or doing something where you can actually talk is better. Movies are more of a second date or third date thing.

Ben Affleck and good movie do not seem to go hand-in-hand, outside of Good Will Hunting.
Hope it is as good as you say...
Esp. Ben Affleck in tight leather...ick.
Is there a guy out there that you are interested in seeing in "Tight Leather"?

If you want to go to a movie, then yes, this is a good one. Theres a pretty strong love theme in it. Not too strong, but its there.

I've seen some early reviews, so far they are pretty good. It seems like the actual movie isn't as action packed as the commercials portray it to be. I think this is a good thing. I'm going to see it friday night with my wife.

Wow, here in Detroit, the Detroit News panned it bigtime today. Live and learn.

Just got back from seeing it. Not bad, It had a few goofy moments but all in all I think it was a good representation of the comic. I wish it developed some of the charactors more like the Kingpin for instance, but I thought it was worth my 7 dollars. My wife is not into action/comicbooks/sci-fi and even she thought is was pretty good.

Im guessing mostly to show that Bullseye isnt dead.

And Im suprised with how many critics panned this movie. Its really well done. On par with Burtons batman, in my opinion.

I saw it tonight, it sucked. I haven't read the comic, but the movie itself sucked. The only good thing about the movie was the soundtrack.

The movie rocked!
Better than Spiderman easily and I am a huge Spidey fan and I have never read DD.

You can't compare DD to Spiderman. That's like comparing Batman movies to Superman movies. They hit a different audience. Spiderman for what it did was great. DD on the other hand, it was OK, not as good as I thought it would be.

For me, Spiderman exceeded my expectations and DD didn't.

I was going to see it tonight but got a cold. No loss.

The bad:

1) Bennifer as Matt Murdock
2) Elektra don't look like Elektra
3) Black Kingpin? Leonardo DiCaprio as The Black Panther anyone?
4) Bullseye looks like Andre Agassi

**SPOILERS**

Enough with the comic book movies with depressing endings, thats not what I go to the movies to see...oh well, at least this one wasn't as bad as Spiderman...

why did you think the end was depressing?

She's alive still. How else do yout think that necklace with the braille writing go there?

I know, and I'm sure Spiderman will get with Mary Jane when they're ready to wrap up that franchise. Not only does DD leave you thinking Elektra died, it leaves you knowing both Kingpin and Bulls-eye are still alive. There is no satisfaction to it at all save the braille necklace which just saves the whole thing from being one huge disaster. Waiting a year or two for the real ending isn't a path I like to see more films taking...

Actually, Michael Clarke Duncan was the one part of the casting that I thought was a brilliant move before the movie came out, because I couldn't think of a white guy in a fat suit that would be able to pull it off. My problem is that even with his size, he still didn't really portray how massive and menacing Fisk is (the director should have tried to pull off some forced perspective tricks). That and he didn't get nearly enough screen time to establish himself as anything but a standard villain.

I can't argue with number 4, though. Every time Bullseye scored a hit on someone, my friend would lean over and whisper "Advantage, Agassi".

SPOILERS for the comic book geeks:

Didja notice:

Nice lineup of former and current DD creators. John Romita (which handles both Jr. and Sr.) as the boxer Matt's dad faced, the lineup he beat to get there included (Frank) Miller (?), (David) Mack, and (Brian Michael) Bendis. The rapist who was set free by the courts was Jose Quesada. Kevin Smith's geeky forensics assistant cameo was named (Jack) Kirby.

Young Matt Murdock saves Stan Lee. There was a name reference to someone named Lee in the script, but I forget where.

Anyone else catch any other in-jokes?
