I saw a Lotus over the weekend!

LINK FAIL!

i see them once in a while around here; it's definetly not a daily driver. I took a peak inside one that I saw in a parking lot, and at no surprise, it looked incredibly cramped inside

I dont have a doubt though that it's an awesome driving experience though

I have a friend that owns an ExigeS, take a few rides in it and I can say this with utmost certainty, I will NEVER spend money on a Lotus (unless they modernize the Esprit).

yeah I thought it was a joke at first it was so tiny. it only came about 3' off the ground I think. It was barely up to my waist. looking inside it looked incredibly cramped. The car was from NH too, so it was about an hour's ride down here in it. Not good times.

I'm 6'2 and I sat in an exige - plenty of headroom. It looks low but your ass is only about 2 inches above the road so it's deceptive. It's also ridiculously fast round the bends.

Well, if you take a 1.8 liter Toyota engine, slap a turbo on it, put it on a go cart frame and wrap around it some fancy fiberglass work, you'll get a ridiculously fast cart around the track too. Oh, wait...

I live in the ghetto and the other day I saw a white Lambo Cuntach parked between a beat up Astro and some riced up Civic.

you saw a poor man's lotus. Espirit's are the real deal.

All that is is a street legal go-kart.

That "poor mans lotus" will also blow the doors off about any other car you care to take to the track.

That's funny, most people that are into racing want an Elise, not an Esprit.

Simple mods to an Elise will give it 250 hp. You can get over 270 hp if you really want to. And it will destroy an Espirit on any track that isn't an oval. Maybe even on an oval. The thing is, you will spend about $30K less on the Elise.

The Eleise is basically the car that people that are into racing want. An Espirit is for those with more money than brains.

confirmed by Specop 007 in post above mine.

I can't see the pics at work, so I am assuming we are talking about hte Elise or the newer version of it which I don't recall the name of.

Racing is based on classes. Not many except at the lower end are going with an Elise/Exige.

Most I doubt even see track time.

The Elise/Exige is just as I said a street legal go kart.

It's quick and all but it's akin to saying a Viper sucks because Joe Mullet with his 700ci Pinto can turn a 7 sec 1/4 for 1/4 the money.

I know it's just a typo, but I would pay good money for an Elise that was jacked up 3 feet off the road.
