I remember when...

VirtualLarry

No Lifer
I was once living with a friend, and we had DSL, and a router. My computer was running Mozilla (now called SeaMonkey), and Kerio firewall.

Some other friends of his came over, saw how I was using my computer, with Mozilla and a firewall, and said, "Man, are you paranoid!".

Well, only the paranoid survive (Andy Grove), and my main computer has yet to have ever had a serious virus infection.

I remember Netscape 2.0. 3.04, 4.x 7.x and Mozilla and Seamonkey and then Firefox.

Been there--done that. What's next?

Well, if we are gonna brag somewhat let me join in.I am on a win7 limited account with precise account allowances.Combined with EMET, i have tested it against every known creature of malware i can find.In fact, i have seen the effect of virus/trojan attempts via flash via java via wmp all to no avail.Throw in all the browser security, and ya are golden.

Arrogance doesn't tend to work out very well in the IT world...

Firefox + no script for my normal browsing
Two factor authentication on my gmail account
Chrome app windows for the sites I have to login into. While there's still some risk those sites could be hacked, I at least keep my 'important' stuff separate from my normal browsing. (if I was really paranoid, I'd use a linux virtual machine)

the number of BBQ sauces you got at McDonald's did not depend on the size of your nugget order, further-more you did not have to pay $.10 per extra BBQ sauce.
