All instrumental, no lyrics. Great for background music. Really peaceful and calming.

More ambience than the metal type sound is Lights and Motion.

Other stuff that's sort of close, but has some lyrics; The Album Leaf, Ladamar and Maschine.

Then there is The Devin Townsend Project that has a mix of the above.

You might like Hammock. It's not exactly post rock, but some is. The different albums/tracks can be post rock, ambient, neo classical, uncategorized... Maybe poke around the discography.

Years ago I showed my kid the YouTube video of Kraftwerk's Wir Sind Die Roboter. He didn't initially realize they were singing in German, and thought they were singing "Do the stinky robot dog".
