All instrumental, no lyrics. Great for background music. Really peaceful and calming.

More ambience than the metal type sound is Lights and Motion.

Other stuff that's sort of close, but has some lyrics; The Album Leaf, Ladamar and Maschine.

Then there is The Devin Townsend Project that has a mix of the above.
 
Years ago I showed my kid the YouTube video of Kraftwerk's Wir Sind Die Roboter. He didn't initially realize they were singing in German, and thought they were singing "Do the stinky robot dog".
