I did really enjoy the episode. My favorite so far is the season 1 finale where they find people cryo frozen from our time. It put a lot into perspective.

"How're my [Atlanta] Braves doin'? Probley still figgerin' out new ways to lose..."

TNG is amazing, but DS9 puts it to shame.. just avoid the first season.. 2nd and 3rd are decent.. 4-7 blows everything else away.

The saving grace of voyager was the EMH imo. ironically he was the one character that felt believable.

Oh, and 7of9, for her random borg moments

I've heard tons of hate for Wes, but he hasn't bothered me... yet. Though I don't like how he's nearly perfect and can't really do anything wrong, and I don't like how he randomly saves the day.

There's a marketing reason why 94.4% of all fantasy has a young male save the world.

TNG's first season, I called 'Star Trek: the re-generation' because they copied so many original series so closely. That ended after the first season, though.

sorry for a voyager question, but this scene with 7of9 cracks me up every-time i watch it. IMO its the best scene in the whole voyager series. im sure there are there are enough ST nerds in here to tell me what episode it was from.

"Seven years ago I said we'd be watching you, and we have been. Hoping that your ape-like race would demonstrate some growth; give some indication that your minds had room for expansion, but what have we seen instead? You worrying, about Commander Riker's career, listening to Counselor Troi's pedantic psycho-babble, indulging Data in his witless exploration of humanity... "

Yeah, I remember this being a common complaint during the first season in 87. As others have mentioned, many of the scripts were from the scrapped Phase II series and it showed.

I'd love to know what that is, because I seriously doubt Will Wheaton brought in the teenage female audience and most of the nerd male audience thought he sucked.

Can we all agree that Q* is one of the best villains in all of Sci Fi, heck, one of the best villains anywhere? I always wondered why the actor who played him didn't do more things. He's such an excellent actor, and he's not type cast because he was in reality only in what, 4-5 episodes of TNG? I've never seen him in anything else.

*Q played by anyone but this guy would not have been as good.

The first and second season uses scripts from the failed Star Trek Phase II series that was supposed to be produced in the mid 70's (they decided to make ST The Motion Picture instead). That's why most of those stories are so hokey- Gene Roddenberry wrote them and they were 15 years out of date.

Season 3 started completely new scripts and less Roddenberry influence...which means it got interesting. The guy created Star Trek and also nearly ruined it.

I find it amusing no one mentioned Enterprise in this whole thread. I sorta kinda liked it a little bit.
