I really need help here.

Power went out here a few times and I think something is wrong in my PC.

its an abit be6 with a celeron366. it boots to the point where is says the cpu speeds, and hangs there.
nothing I can do can help.
so I guess something is fubar here; i just dont know what. is it the cpu? motherboard?

Also..if all else fails try taking the cmos battery out for a few hours...that will reset the bios...that mihgt help.

ok guys now I am really scared.

I took out the ram and put in a new 256 PC133 stick I got.
It POSTed fine the first time, I decided to reboot again to double check.
Second time, it didnt post. Just came as far as the CPU speed.

If the first set of ram was dead or damaged, is it possible now it killed my 256 stick too?!

This would be a REALY bummer as I am using this to build a new computer. Oh gosh. I'm gonna try to test the ram on a friends PC.

I dont know what the hell is wrong here..

Actually, it's better to take the RAM and cpu from the problematic computer and test them in another computer. It is possible that your motherboard is defective, which might damage whatever you put it in there.

so take the old ram, and the old cpu, and test it in some other machines. if they are working, your mobo is toasted. if one of them is not working, they are broken, but there are also chances that your mobo is defective as well...
